PTFE Tank Lid Seal Packing - Style 1005
Our PTFE tank lid seal packing is made by spiral wrapping of PTFE tape over a core of elastomer, jacketed with inert polypropylene yarn braided structure is spirally wrapped to provide an impermeable barrier to liquids. Final jacketing of polypropylene yarn gives complete protection to the packing and makes it abrasion resistant. The unique core construction of PTFE tank lid seal packing enables the packing to be stitched together to form an endless seal, thus preventing the chance of any leakage at the jointPTFE tank lid seal packing has a multi-layer construction, which assures excellent conformability to the packing recess, compression and resilience properties, ensuring reliable, gas tight sealing performance every time the tank hatch or lid is closed and tightened. The Lid-Lock of PTFE tank lid seal packing starts with a rubber core overwrapped with a high quality PTFE film. This core is then overbraided with the non-absorbent, chemically resistant polypropylene yarn. The combination of the two gives this packing its excellent compressibility and elasticity. This flexible core is then wrapped with a double layer of high quality PTFE film. Finally, the Lid-Lock is overbraided with a tough, pure PTFE filament jacket that protects the PTFE film barrier from damage.
