Silicone rubber sheet reinforced with glass fiber cloth Inserted is made of glass fiber fabric, coated with thick layers of silicone rubber sheet on both sides. Glass fiber cloth reinforced silicone rubber sheet is designed for use in applications where stresses are typically static and pressures are usually low.

Silicone rubber sheet reinforced with glass fiber cloth Inserted has a fabric featuring flame & heat resistance, excellent dimensional stability, inert to most common chemicals, high strength to weight ratios, fungus and mildew resistant.

Compared to the normal silicone rubber sheets our glass fibre reinforced silicone rubber sheets guarantee much better longevity and tear resistance. This makes them suitable for use in heavy duty applications including non-stretch gaskets and seals.

Is Silicone Rubber Safe to Humans?

Silicone can be found naturally as an element, however, most silicone material used in commercial or industrial settings are man-made. For instance, Silicone is a lab-made material that consists of several different chemicals including: silicon (a naturally occurring element), oxygen, carbon and hydrogen. Liquid silicone is generally toxic to humans but, FDA approved silicone material is available to be used for cooking or food storage. FDA grade silicone elastomer is commonly used as seals in food handling applications because it is made with materials that conform to the standards set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (21 CFR 177.2600). Additionally, silicone is used in cosmetic surgeries in the form of implants, therefore, making it safe for human use as long as it is used externally. The FDA warns that silicone rubber should never be injected or ingested as it may leads to serious health problems that may result in death.
